SMA Solar UK Ltd – Press Release SMA UK launch next generation solar yield monitoring device, Sunny View, for domestic plants Milton Keynes, November 7, 2012 – SMA Solar UK have launched Sunny View, the next generation solar yield monitoring device for domestic plants. The stylish Sunny View offers users more than a display of reliable data of their solar yield. Using Bluetooth technology to communicate with up to 12 inverters, users can now keep track of their PV plant live as well as receiving news updates, weather reports and social network messages via WiFi thanks to the new intelligent monitoring solution from SMA. Stylish solar PV monitoring for the home From anywhere in the home, end-users can integrate the Sunny View with their PV system to provide a comprehensive overview of how the PV plant is performing. The intelligent Sunny View communicates directly with the inverter via Bluetooth to allow the user to clearly monitor their electricity yield and CO2 avoidance, therefore, maximising their investment. Data can be retrieved from the inverter and downloaded onto an SD card for further analysis if required. Troubleshooting the PV plant is made easy by the Sunny View with the audio and visual alarm alerting end-users to plant faults so any downtime is minimized. The WLAN interface for optional display of online data allows users to use the Sunny View in other ways beyond their PV plant. The Sunny View can display other online data, for example news updates, weather forecasts and social networking feeds. Jan Van Laetham, Managing Director, SMA UK commented: “SMA are committed to setting new standards in intelligent monitoring solutions for domestic solar PV systems. We understand the ever-changing needs of end-users and our new products reflect this keeping SMA firmly at the forefront of solar PV innovation”.
