Job objective:
The Logistics Manager – in close cooperation with the local Service Manager and the Headquarters’ (HQ) Service Logistics division - is responsible for the set-up and smooth running of the Service Logistics Back Office of our subsidiaries in India and provides A – Z support and services with regard to all operational and administrative matters relating to service logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provides first-class support to the Customer Service & Logistics department
- Coordinates and schedules all administrative and logistical operations
- Efficiently resolves operational problems and invoice issues
- Provides for the effective, timely and accurate processing of orders, including relevant documentation
- Provides monthly reports and operational statistics
- Manages both bonded and standard warehouses on a national basis
- Manages 3rd party logistics service providers
- Manages & maintains stock levels according to the agreed service levels
- Manages annual stock counts
- Manages Imports & Exports into India and Europe
- Looks after warehouse equipment and schedules the timely servicing of the equipment, including but not limited to vehicles and forklifts
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Requires a Commercial or Logistics Management Degree
- Has at least three years of professional experience in an order processing and warehousing environment or in a similar position at a company with global manufacturing facilities
- Must be proficient using MS Office and SAP
- Good English and Afrikaans language skills; German would be highly advantageous
- Has extensive experience with imports & exports into India as well as Europe
- Proactive approach to work, good organizational skills, works well under pressure and with deadlines and is a team player
- Not afraid to roll up the sleeves and be “hands-on”
- Willing to travel domestically and internationally
- Willing to undergo further training in Germany
- Knowledge of GST is preferable
